Dear UChicago Office of Admissions,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I feel like everyone is getting college emails these days, and it\u2019s perfectly normal to get as many as five or more a day. So I wouldn\u2019t complain about that, except recently, the emails sent to me have started getting kind of\u2026 weird. I don\u2019t know why you bother with me because you\u2019re a good school and it\u2019s not like I\u2019m that good a student, but you won\u2019t stop sending me stuff! The emails started a few months ago, and I wasn\u2019t that concerned, but now there\u2019s emails every day, and now my inbox gets a notification as many as 16 times a day! Snail mail all the time too! Almost every day when I go into my house after school there’s a new book-sized pamphlet. I\u2019m starting to dread going home! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The worst part of all this isn\u2019t even the quantity of advertising, it\u2019s what you say. I know college emails can get kind of random, but this is on another level. I get emails with all sorts of invasive questions like \u201cWhen was the last time you cried?\u201d and \u201cDo you feel comfortable in your relationships?\u201d The other day I got a postcard that said \u201cHot girls like you deserve to go to UChick-ago.\u201d What???? I\u2019m starting to get really freaked out! I tried clicking \u201cunsubscribe\u201d but nothing has changed\u2014the emails keep coming! I\u2019m really overwhelmed \u2014 I don\u2019t know how to tell them I don\u2019t want their creepy advertisements. Please help!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
