In the wake of Whitman wins again Wootton in both the girl’s varsity soccer regional championship and the handball county championship — just hours apart — the MCPS Board of Education has taken swift action to change the name of the school.
“A school’s name should reflect our student body’s ever-changing voices, beliefs and values,” Board of Education member Will Jawando said. “Right now, there’s no name that better represent Wootton’s student body than Lootton.”
